The Chisholm Trail, used by cowboys to drive cattle from Texas through Indian Territory (now Oklahoma), ended in Abilene, Kansas. Wyatt Earp, marshall of Dodge City, was among the legendary lawmen who kept the peace in rowdy frontier towns along the way.
